I have a Kawasaki prairie 360 and everyone always talks carp about them and says they are slow and underpowered but I beat a Honda 400 in a drag yesterday and also went through everything he did keep in mind his is 4x4 mine is 2x4 and I didn't get stuck I actually pulled him out so I'm very happy with my P360

Here's a bunch off owner reviews Vehicle Reviews for 2006 Kawasaki Prairie® 360 4x4 seem like the good outnumbers the bad.
Who told you they have a bad rep?

I think he was just saying they're slow. On top end, most likely they are, but on low and mid-range, it is apparently pretty torquey. If its an older Honda 400 4x4 then its most likely full-time 4x4 and those are kinda slow. But on the trail, I'm sure the Prairie 360 does pretty well. My Rancher isn't the fastest but its probably comparable in performance. If its a wide open trail where you can really open up, I do wish I had more top end power. It does ok for now, I'll eventually upgrade but just don't want to spend the money anytime soon.

All 350 Utilities perform about the same , not fast on open roads but are good for trail riding.
The only quick 350 4x4 that was made was the old 350 Wolverines, they were really 4wd Worriors/Raptor with racks.

Yeah, they are what they are. Without an a abundance of power and being pretty heavy, smaller displacement utility machines have to compromise somewhere. They're meant for doing work so they tend to be geared toward the low end. They just run out of hp on top end. About 45-50 mph is about all you're going to get out of any 350cc utility machine. The 350 Wolverine benefitted from being a bit lighter than most utility machines and it was geared a little higher because it was more of a sport utility. If you could find one that had the Warn disconnect that disengaged the front hubs to make it part-time 4x4, I can imagine that helped quite a bit too. I guess they made one of those for the earlier Honda Rubicons that were full-time 4x4 as I saw one for sale locally recently that displayed that feature in one of the pics.
