COT : as in "an army 'cott' you sleep on"

E : as the "E" is pronounced in "E-Bay"

CaptNemo is our winner. "teh caw tay"

As for the ATV from north of the border, it's that French influence that brought about their name: "bom bar dee ay"

Now if we can only educate the rest of the South about Aigner. (it's not "ag ner" it's "on yay&quot

I guess all thos French people had a lot of time on their hands so that started sticking silent letters into all their words.

In America, there is a theory called "Conservation of Letters"

This is most prevalent with the letter "R". Around Boston, ceratin words have lost their "R's" like: car, park, harbor (caw, pawk, ha-ba). Due to the conservation of letters, these "R's" have migrated south and infested words that never had "R's" like: wash (warsh).

Good luck with your Spanish named ATV.

Kevin,
If you spend enough time in Northern Mexico, um er ah, I mean, Los Angeles CA., you learn the Mexican dialect of Spanish.
Some of we southeners like to leave out "r"s as well,( one of the few things we have in common with the Yankee Scourge ) just watch a NASCAR Race and you'll see a classic Foad agaist Chev-olay battle... Thank God they can pronounce Dodge... But we do make up for taking the "r"s out by putting them in other places, "warshers" ( the things that go under the head of a bolt or that new fangled machine for cleaning clothes ) and "carter clips" ( the split pins used with castellated nuts to prevent the nuts from loosening, AKA cotter pins )
As for Bombadier, ask the guy who aims the ordinance on a bomber plane, He'll give you the CORRECT pronunciation.
