Mike,
The guys are probably correct in that it is your battery.
Try to put a volt meter on the battery and it will say 12 volts start your bike and it should say around 13.5 volts.
Also start your bike and disconnect the negative side and connect the meter to the negative wire and the positive that is still on your battery and make sure your still charging.
I' m telling you to disconnect the negative because if you slip on the positive you could cause damage to your charging system.
Try doing these little test with and without the new battery to better understand what is going on thier.
This is a very good time to teach your self a little about your charging system wich is the most mis-inturpated system on bikes as well as cars.
Remember any one can be a parts changer, it is just a very expensive way to learn from your mistakes.

Hey Gaff and everyone else who replyed to this post,

It was the battery. Put a new one in today (Saturday) and its like nothin happened. I still don't understand why this is. I was under the impression that the bike should be able to run without the battery. Any I'm happy that was it. It only set me back $40. I want to thank everyone for their help. This forum is such a great way to get help or share ideas.
