Well I have gotten my choke prob fixed along with the belt deflection issues that seem to plague almost every 650 made. The only beef I still have with the machine is the crappy (way too soft) springs!!!
Has anyone come across any aftermarket springs or shocks for it yet?
I do mainly fast trail riding and can't stand how it dives in the front while cornering.
Other than this I can't find anything else wrong with it,trust me I have tried.
HELP!!!

I talked to Mike Penland and he is testing springs for someone but he couldn't tell me who.

I agree that the front is a bit soft but the springs arent the only problem. The tires arent that great either and some of that roll you feel is the sidewall flex. I just got my new tires today but I wont have them on until Friday. I'm very curious to see how a better tire will help with the roll going into a corner at speed. If you have done any jumping with your Praire yet I think you will find that the suspension up front gives a very plush landing. A stiffer spring might be better for cornering but it might also give some negative results for other types of riding.

The folks at Progressive suspension are making adjustable front suspension kits, you will be able to adjust the tension of the stock springs stiffer os softer. If we call and show interest it will be available sooner.

that is what progressive emailed me about 650 springs

I spoke with someone at progressive and he said it would be adjustable but who knows for sure, hopefully we get something soon.

Hi Other 650 owners
I got rid of the stock tires after riding them one day. I put on 26 inch mudrunner. What a different feeling alot better handing .The front still is soft put not as bad. Some trails with stock tire I can ride 10 to 15 mph faster with the mudrunners.
I am glad I changed the tires If you have the extra $$ get new tires .
Best price for tires is www.treadepot.com

Just pickup honda recon for wife

Gb in NJ
Anyone did any mods to 650 yet

Ok so tires seem to help some of you guys. If this is the case what would be the best all around tire for lets say 75% fast trail riding the other 25% mudding?
