MJSTX, thanks for the confirmation about the drive pulley spring. That's gonna save me a lot of time. The UPS guys phoned me tonight and said that they will be delivering my springs tommorrow. As long as the weather agrees, I'll put them on tommorrow after work. I was sorry to hear that a guy loses speed with the red spring. I was hoping to gain a little. Maybe I'll do the same thing you did, try the red and if I don't like it, I can always change it back.

 

I am interested in getting the black spring. What can I expect. I have 27" 589 Titans. Will it be quicker off the line? Will I lose top end speed? If so how much?

 

I just put my black spring in my quad and for 24.99 it was a worthwhile investment. To give you and example I pull a 60" estate mower from time to time with my quad and with factory spring I had to go to low because it would slip in high on hills, now I can pull out in high on a hill, however I will still mow in low, on the same belt.
