Default Prairie 650 VS 360 ??

Am looking @ both and the dealer is pointing me toward the 360. I move alot of cattle across corn stalks and rough pastures, and actually do some pretty extreme cutting with these atv`s. I`ve got a polaris 335 that does a good job, but am gonna go kawasaki this time. The dealer says the 360`s manuever better , quicker. Also wondering $$, 360 is $5650, 650 is $6650, sounds pretty high to me, dealer made it sound like there is not much more room to negotiate. Would enjoy any input!

I beleive the 360 has more ground clearance....It makes a lot of torque...and is a great deal....But also check around cause not log after I bought my 360 for $5705 OTB I saw a new 650 for $5999 + tax
Both are great machines!

Default Prairie 650 VS 360 ??

...Hello Rosc...I bought my wife a 2003 Prairie 360...I have a '03 Prairie 650...the 360 has a nice smooth ride...same features a the 650...we ride in the 7000 feet area,in the Black Hills of south dakota...I never had an atv before..never had any use for one, untill we starting buying land in the black hills area...I just traded it in on saturday 11/23.2002 for a new 03 suzuki Vinson 5 spd 500cc liquid cooled...the Prairie machine is nice..but for our use in the hills...its "UNDERPOWERED"..Yes, you can put it in low gear and get up the hills...but the little bugger is just "Screaming"...the automatic IMO should not be in anything less than a 500cc...if you have young children...or use it mostly on flat land,OR once a year to hunt with it..it will do...and you will have to adjust the auto secondary clutch every so often...my 650 prairie just about idles up the hills...very smooth....GO with the 650 by all means...FYI we paid $5100.00 for the 03 prairie 4x4..tax/license xtra...we bought the 650 for $6600.00..There should be a rebate going on with the 650's...seems to me its $300.00...I was at a local dealer..(Not my dealer) in st cloud mn 320-253-7878 that was selling the '03 650's for I believe $5999.00 tax/license exta.. HE keeps the rebate ...He had lots in stock...like I said nice riding 360 but "under powered"...(No FLAMES PLEASE) .....Kawasaki has to be losing sales in the 500cc class....I would like to have stayed with kaw...But they don't make a 500cc...I was very inpressed with the Vinson....hope this helps...FYI (for your information) My back ground is a Master certified tech..etc..look up my supercharged '56 chev at hotrodsusa.com go to readers photo page 3..the red/white one...take the 650...later

...We got $5000.00 in trade for it..(paid $5100.00 for it)....had about 25 hours on it...owned it since 8/29/02...I looked around for a kawasaki and suzuki dealer.....that way, they know the 360 prairie, and would be more willing to take it in trade...susuki also has a $300.00 rebate going on...we got a $425.00 2000 warn winch, for another $150.00.."intrest free" on our $1400.00 for 6 mo...VERY impressed with the quality/fit of the vinson....IMO also I think kaw needs to change the front end style for 04..starting to get dated..IMO...later

Default Prairie 650 VS 360 ??

I had about ~800 miles on my 360 before trading it in for the 650. The p650 is a much more powerful machine. It's faster, has much more pep, and is an awesome ride. I had a lot of problems with my 360, otherwise I liked it's features. But the 650 has all those and then some, and is really a HUGE difference. That price difference isn't for nothing. If you don't really need speed or power the 360 isn't bad. With either of them, you will probably want new tires and the rims don't hold up well. But the suspension is incredible and you will appreciate it in the fields and pastures!

I don't agree with your dealer that the 360 maneuvers more quickly or better. The 650 is also shorter than the 360 and less top-heavy since the gas tank is lower. You may appreciate that in Colorado even more so than I do in Iowa.

650 is the one, the 650 is liquid cooled, the 360 is oil cooled, power vs no power, the steer the same at slow speed the 650 has the 360 beat at high speed steering, the trannie doesn't sound strained on the 650 as it does on the 360, don't even think the 360 is quicker... it is not. the red light for four wheel drive looks like a trouble light on the 360. I don't think your dealer drove the 650 if he is saying those things. Don't get me wrong.... the 360 I compare with other quads and I like it. I feel the 400 is nicer.... and 650... well you can not compare it to anything. 335 Polaris is a little stronger than the 360, but the 400 is alot stronger than the 335. On the same topic if you need to dig holes for your fence posts, well the 650 does that in about 8 seconds. BTY you can never pay too much for a P650.
