Someone told me I did not have to pay taxes
#1
We have 250 acres in Northern Louisiana and have been setting up hunting stands along with clearing the land. A friend of mine said he did not have to pay taxes on his purchase of a new ATV because he had given them an address where his ranch is. Is this BS, if not, what proof must I show. Does anyone know any leads on this. Thanks.

Howdy,
Here in Texas if you have a farm or ranch, then you are tax free. At the signing of the papers just ask for a ranch exemption form & fill it out. I paid no taxes on mine. Have a goodun!!!!!

I BOUGHT 2 NEW QUADS FOR FARM USE. A SUZUKI LT500 4X4 AND A POLARIS 325 TRAILBOSS. 8 MONTHS LATER I RECIEVED A LETTER FROM TAX DEPT. I HAD TO PAY THE SALES TAX W/ A PENALTY ON THE POLARIS, BECAUSE IT WAS CONSIDERED A SPORT QUAD.

My family owns 300+ acres of land here in the central valley of california. We still have to pay tax for any quad we buy because we do not farm the land ourselves. We lease it out to another local farmer. We were thinking of planting 1 acre of cotton or something so that we don't have to pay tax. I'm not sure if that would work though.

The Ohio tax personal says that you as long as it is a utility quad and for farm use it can be tax exempt. I bought a new Vinson and a Ozark for my wife back in the summer and they were both exempt. However when i bought the new Z-400, i had to pay the sales tax.
