Cold weather problem with Lakota
I havent been using my Lakota lately but it was running fine this summer. Upon trying to start it up to plow snow I encountered the same strange problem I had a few times last year. It does not want to start or run with the spark plug wire clicked firmly on the plug. It will only run if I pull the wire off the plug and let the spark jump about an inch (length of boot) to the plug. Is this somehow an indication that the timing is off. It really makes no sense to me. Any thoughts guys?

Cold weather problem with Lakota
Hey quadzuki...i have actually seen this excect same problem once. Very strange, indeed. It happed on my friends wheeler...it wouldn't run...but if you held the plug wire away from the plug and let it arc it would run fine:S. Anway, it ended up being a bad resistor....either in the sparkplug in in the sparkplug boot. See if your machine calls for a resister spark plug...if it does just replace the plug and see how it does. If it doesn't, the resistor is probably in the sparkplug boot itself, so you'll need to repace the boot. The resistors are in there to help keep the ignition system from interferring with radio signals, ect. We ended up getting a non-resister boot just so we didnt ahve to worry about that problem. Hope this helps.
