I had FST do it, i think for $200 or $250 and it was well worth it. Think of it this way it in no way harms reliabilty, there is nothing to bolt on, and it just works. More air and fuel in = more power out. Can't get more simpler then that.

You can port and polish yourself if you feel up to it. I did my X head myself and I think it turned out pretty well. All you really need is a dremel tool and the bits for it. Porting takes time and patience and it's really more of an art then anything. I know I might not of ported nearly as good as what some aftermarket companys might but it turned out pretty good I think.

I did it when I rebuilt my last engine and I did it with all my other mods at once. But I tell you what my bike pulled HARD from lowend right up to almost top end. Let me put it this way with me sitting on the gas tank idling in 1st gear I can pop the clutch and 1 of 2 things will happen. It will either spin the tires or the front end will pop up off the ground and it will start moving forward. This is all without me giving it ANY gas. I just removed the casting flaws mostly. The exhaust you want to make it as smooth as possible while the intake you want to leave if rough so the fuel atomizes better before it gets into the cylinder.
