Default Prairie 650 loose screw

I was looking at my 650 today and noticed a bolt lying next to the pull starter. I looked around the area to see where there might be a screw missing and saw an empty screw missing in the cylinder head on the pull starter side. The area is just about right below one of the mounting tabs on the exhaust heat shield. If anyone has any idea as to what this is supposed to be holding in or if it is actually where the bolt is from please let me know. If not I'll just take it into the dealer. Thanks guys

Go to buykawasaki.com and look at the diagram for the cylinder head and compare the drawing to what you actually have and you will know where the screw/bolt goes and what it hold on.

Not exact but its about 1.5 inches long and maybe .25 inches diameter with a fine tread. I think the head is 10mm(a guess) and silver. Any ideas?

Ok, I went to the dealer today and checked out a 650 to see where the screw may have came from. Found out it is from the timing chain tensioner. I put it back in, but should I be worried about anything with it now?

2 bolts hold the tensioner in place; you lost one. No problem.

Nova
Thanks, Another question maybe you can help with. Above the location of the chain tensioner bolts, there is a rectangular indentation on the head, maybe an inch by 2 inches. There is a treaded hole there but no bolt and I am wondering if there is supposed to be one. Do you have any idea if there should be and what it does? Thanks again.
