LG90 Problem
#1
Good Morning. I just bought a used LG90 little quad for my son and I am having some problems with it already. I am pretty good with getting things going but I don't want do more damage trying to figure this out. When I first got it (about 2 days ago) it ran good but now I can't get past 1/4 throttle or it dies out. It gets worse the hotter it gets. I changed the plug, fuel filter, and drained and put fresh fuel in it. It seems to be getting progressively worse though. It does not have enough power to go up any incline unless I walk beside it and feather the throttle. I am thinking CDI but am not sure. I hate to drop $70 on a new cdi and not have it fix it. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks Everyone.

Thank you for the quick reply. I was hoping to avoid taking that carb off to clean it, I guess I am just being lazy. I was looking at it last night and there is not very much room in there to work that is for sure. I will see what I can come up with. Thanks again!

Would it be helpful to run some carb cleaner through the tank to help clean it up? Just a thought. It will save me from having to dig in there and pull that carb off. Is the CDI out of the equation for this problem? Thanks!

I was watching the carb as it was running and there is excess gas coming out of the air intake. I am guessing that is no good. I am thinking the choke my be sticking. It will start right up and idle, but as soon as I try to run her it dies right out. It is so frusterating. Thank for any ideas.

So I took your suggestion and pulled the carb and cleaned it. I adjusted the float needle a little and it works if I spray fuel intake with carb cleaner and push up on the float needle. When I put it back together it did the same thing. The gas is running out the overflow as fast as it is going it. Frustrating! Any suggestions?

It's deff the needle/seat not stopping the fuel flow.
You removed the needle and seat and inspected for wear spots? That happens.
You say you adjusted the needle. You bent the tab? If so maybe the wrong way.
FYI: I literally blow into the fuel intake tube and work the float when I test them.

So this is what I ave done so far on the LG90.
put a new CDI on
New Carb
New coil w/ wire
It runs now but only wants to start if I put my hand over the intake cutting off the air. Once it starts and the tires are off the ground I can keep it going for a bit, but then it cuts off. The carb is spitting excess fuel out of the carb.I am guessing:
1) Fuel to air mixture is not right
How many turns out to start with? 1 1/2 - 2 1/2?
2) Float is not set correctly
What is the float supposed to be set at?
I need help getting this going before my wife drives me crazy because I have not got this little thing going after spending all this $ on it. I am in too deep to quit now. Please someone bail me out
