Who all has them for their kids and what can you say about it? What have you done to it? How long you had it? How has it held up for you?

Thanks

The KFX80 is a Suzuki LT80 with Kawi plastic. Exact copy in fact.

My son rides the Lt 80. His is a 2001 model. He is 7 years old and loves it. I would have to say, other than the suspensions sucks (but what kids quad stock suspension doesnt suck) that the only problem the lt or kawi 80 has is the clutch rollers. Small plastic rollers in the clutch that eventually wear little flats on them and starts a rattling noise when the motor is under load. Other than that, the machine runs great and will keep on doing so long after the piston starts to seize the rings. This little quad runs and runs. It is also the only mini quad that the manufacturer name on the plastic, actually builds the quad. We have done the following to ours, and it has been alot of fun thus far.
Trinity stage 3 porting, boyseen reeds, modified reed cage, wiesco .060 over piston, shaved head for 180 compression, 20mm keihin carb with direct mount k&n filter, ported carb intake, steel 13 tooth counter sprocket, 25 tooth alum. rear on 428 NON o-ring chain, teather switch, douglas alum front rims, douglas rears with 7" wide fast trekkers, modified clutch and spring, and fianlly, removed oil injector to run 32:1 pre-mix on 98octane gas.
Thats about it.

In my opinion, its a great machine, and very easy to work on.

Dstroyer,

Wow.... Quite a bit for a little 80. Tell me, can I start running premix without doing anything to the injector other than empty the resevoir?

Thanks,
BB

I would reccomend just removing the injector all together. It really only takes a few minutes and you wouldnt risk the chance of injecting some crud from the bottom of the tank when its empty. I just pulled the little plastic part out from under injector pump on the left side of the quad. Then inserted a pin into the tube running from the carb so nothing can get into it. This should only take 5 minutes. If your in my area around Southern Wisconsin, I would be happy to help with it.

The plastic piece he's talking about is inside. You must remove the side-cover.
::Remove the footpeg bolts, remove plastic attached to footpegs, remove the allen head bolts holding the cover, remove the starter bolts, remove the bolt at the 3 O'clock position on the lil cover on the side-cover. With a lil persuation and swearing, the cover will come off. Remove the lil black plastic thing on the front clutch/crankshaft. Re-assemble and put a toothpick in the tube that goes to the carb.
I run 32:1 and use a good synthetic oil (klotz R-50,Torco GP-7,maxima superM)
Have fun
I've been building these for 10 years now, you made a fine choice for your child.

Thanks again for the replies. So why go through all that if I can just remove the tube at the bottle and plug it off?

OK,imagine this:: you just plug it off,but the pump is still being driven.Dont you think it's going to burn up/cause trouble?
The posts before me mentioned removing the black plastic piece,,I just explained in detail how to do it
