Default LT 80 Transmission Oil

I hope to change my son's transmission oil in his LT 80 in the next few days and would like to know what you guys recommend for a replacement oil. Also, is there any secret to removing the air filter? It looks like a complete pain to get to. Thanks

10W40 motor oil in the tranny, only uses a wee bit, maybe 100ml. can't remember taking mine apart for air filter... it wasn't that bad. a few screws.

The problem with the air filter removal is:: as soon as ppl get the screws out and the tubes disconnected, they turn it sideways and try pulling/pushing/hammering/swearing. If you grab the top of it with your thumb and forefinger and keep it in the same position as it sits in the machine, it'll slide right out.
Hope that helps.
