Mywifesquad:
Are you saying, you'd use the synthetic and not the blend?

I just went and looked to make sure, yes torco gp7 is a full synthetic. i pretty much use full synthetics in all my dirt bikes and one quad. the minitrail, xr75 and xr200 have conventional oil in them

I have used the polaris brand 100% synthetic 2-stroke injection oil in our pred. 90 since it was brand new just like my dealer advised me. It is in the bottle with the orange cap/label, and I think it is like 6 0r b bucks a qt.- which lasts a long time in this little thing! My son has put on almost 600 miles since last may with no problems! Why buy oil from wal-mart for your kids expensive toys???

ATV manufacturers do not make or blend oil. They farm it out to the cheapest bidder then overcharge you for it. I use Amsoil in all my vehicles, but Mobile,Klotz, and Torco are good oils as well. Stay away from castor based oils unless you tear down your engine a lot because the castor does not burn very well and it will clog your engine up.

No the oil I use is the conventional oil Arctic Cat has had for years. Used to come in a white jug now a black one. I like this oil on my injected toys as it will pump year round. I believe their syn. oil is now their power valve syn. oil. The differences are also in the additives. I have used Klotz synthetic oil for years in some of my modified sleds. I was researching Amsoil as I can get it easy. Their oils are all syn. and they seem to have 3-4 for 2-stroke applications. 1 for weed wacker, chain saw etc. use. 1 for power valve equiped engines (snow, water, motocycle). 1 for modified engines and pre-mix, Dominator oil I believe. Synthetics will run cleaner, no varnish and carbon build up from burnt oil, and I believe most will handle higher heat. I also believe most of the conventional oils will have some amount of castor in them (biggest reason for varnish) but nothing fights rust better. I have also read that you don't want to use an ashless oil in the small 2-stroke mini quads. This would also rule out most of the power valve oils.

I use polaris vesII, it is what the dealer filled it with when new. It is kinda expensive but it'll take a long time for jr. to burn up a gallon.

How much is that VES II oil of Polaris? I didn't see any on the shelf at the Polaris shop I was in this week. Maybe it's somewhere else, in the shop. Who knows.
