trx90 clutch basket
#3
Mainly because of price. The stock ones are too expensive. The one we have on it is showing alot of wear and should be replaced. Our main problem is the shifting forks. I've been told that my sons riding style is very aggressive and that these stock shifting forks don't hold up well with aggressive riders, only problem is that I don't think anyone makes these forks aftermarket either. We just had the forks replaced about a month ago by a very experienced mechanic and there is only 2 races and a joy ride on them and they are already going bad again. The way you can tell is because it only slips in one gear not all of them. Everything else has been replaced and these forks can only get the tiniest little sliver on them and they begin to start messing shifting up. Our main problem is in third gear. oh yeah, all of the gears have been replaced on this thing too. We've gone through everything on this bike and our only main problem is the shifting forks, but I haven't yet replaced the basket yet so if I can do that and replace the forks again, then I know everything is new and we probably need to be teaching my son to try not to shift so hard, but that's a little hard to do when he just this year got this bike and learned to shift for the first time. But yeah it's deffinetly cheaper to teach than to replace.

my son races his 95 trx90 mx and shifts really hard every shift, so i wouldn't think your sons shifting is any different or harder then the rest.
does it pop out of gear when he is riding? is hard to shift from one gear to another?
