We used to run our '03 Pred-90 at 32:1 with general "off the shelf" Pre-Mix oil. It smoked really bad at times but for our trail riding unit it didn't matter too much. When I replaced the stock cylinder with WRH Racing Performance Cylinder, I couldn't believe the amount of carbon build up in the pipe's manifold. Ever hear the old saying "plugged arteries"? Our stock pipe definitely had plugged arteries. Bet the rest of our stock pipe is plugged up really bad as well. The next time we have a large “very hot” campfire, I’m going to remove our stoke pipe and “throw it in the fire”. I’ve been told letting it cook for a few hours will burn the carbon out of it. If you can, do try to adjust your 2 stroke to be as little smoke as possible. In the long run, you won't have to perform a triple bypass on it (sort of speaking) or throw it in the fire.
Hope this helps as well....

Just go an 05 sportsman today. My manual is in my truck, and I cant figure out how to remove the seat. I cant find a lever like there is on my trailblazer. Any help would be great. Thought I would post here since yall all have the same machine.
Trailblazer
Check the two wires coming off of the bulb/socket area to make sure they are connected tightly. No problem with our 05 light. Could be loose wires.
Range Rover
My '04 SP that I bought 3 months ago new is having the same problem. Half of the oil in the tank and the light is flashing at an idle. It's still smoking, so I've not given it much thought.
The lever to release the seat is under the unit next to the tail pipe. Burned my self once already. Great design Polaris !!!
