LT80 wheel spacers vs +3 a-arms
I have 2 1/2" wheel spacers on the front and rear right now. I was thinking about upgrading to the +3 a-arms from one of the aftermarket shops. There seems to be alot of bump steer with the spacers on it. Does the JL kit work very well, it's a little cheaper.
My main concern is handling right now.
Light motor mods coming this weekend. 90 jet, minus 2 rollers, removed head gasket, new 428 chain and sprockets.

Since the spindle is not over the contact patch of the tire the forces applied to the tire are transferred to the tie rod (handlebars). For example when I hit a rock with the right front tire the handlebar kicks hard to the right. This didn't happen before I installed the front spacers.
I haven't seen a full size quad racing with wheel spacers on the front.

Your right, you don't see big quads with spacers.
Bump steer is something different in actuallity, but that don't matter, what matters is that we/I understand exactly what the problem is.
I feel the problem explained will happen to a degree with any width. The wider the more leverage, thus the more you feel it.
A steering stabilizer would help with what you explained.
I'm not saying your wrong on your thinking tho. The way the spindle sits indeed multiplys the force.
The JLucky extenders work fine. They lower the machine slightly tho, so if clearance is a problem the a-arms would be a lil better option.
The lucky kit or a-arms are better than spacers.

Here are the rules for the local track. I was thinking about entering my 6yr old in the mini class so I don't have to buy a 50cc quad.
Do you think I can rejet the carb to the correct setting? I'm not going to do any motor mods until I find out exactly what's allowed. Any ideas from fellow experienced racers?
"Mini: This class is for points and trophies (or plaques). It is open to riders age 5-11 years old. It is limited to 90.01cc 2-stroke & 125.01cc 4-stroke engines. Standard over bores are allowed as long as the cc limit is not exceeded. ATV engines only. No engine, clutch, transmission, air filter box, carburetor, ignition or exhaust modifications allowed. Production frames only. Tires, sprockets, shocks, a-arms and swing-arms may be changed/modified." TextText

The way the rules read I can't tell if I can rejet or not. I would assume jetting would have to change with elevation so jetting would be allowed.
If that is the case. On a totally stock motor, what jet would produce the best results racing on a LT80? What about a UNI vs. K&N air filter? Any thoughts.
