FIXED...... Thank you everyone.....

Going into this, I was expecting to find a valve lash that was too loose, but what I found was one that was too tight and wouldn't let the intake valve close all the way, thus lowering compression.

Thanks again to everyone who responded.

Yeah, I had a pretty sick feeling when this post started out and the discussion was leading towards worn rings. Wish I could have checked that before dropping the bucks on a new carb. Oh well, live and learn.

Thanks again for the help.

I had the same issue with my BTM Zongshen 50cc. The intake valve was to tight. Set it at .004. Runs great.

I have been thinking of buying a couple of Kazuma 90's or a 90 and a 110 and would like to know peoples opinions on this brand? Thanks

There are only as good as the person putting them together.

Take a look at a Marshin 110. There on Ebay. I bought 2 150's from theses guys and they have been perfect. I even took one to the local Honda shop for a carb tune up due to dirty gas. They were impressed. We have beat the snot out of both of them and have not had one issue with either one. The 150 is CVT the 110 is a 4 speed. I paid 2300.00 for both delivered to my door.

Good Luck

When adjusting the valves on a Kazuma 50 meercat, do you need to get the big cover ( like 3" dia convex cap ) off the side of the cylinder head to get your feeler gague in there to gap the valves correctly, or do you gap them from taking the head cover off ? I don't quite see how to gap them through the little valve cover caps ( where the lock nut is ) What do you use to turn the valve in and out ? looks like there is just a real tiny tip on them. I was thinking I could use my t-handle from one of my tap sets ?

Thanks for any help
