Default Couple of LT80 Carb Questions

Q1, How do I tell the model year on an LT80? I have no idea how old mine is.

Q2, I ordered a Keyster Carb kit for the LT80. It is labeled 1987-1995. Are there any changes from 1995 on, that would make this kit problematic on a newer machine?

Thanks in advance,
Dave

There is a letter in the VIN # that means the year. That's all I know about that.

The carbs are all the same.

Thanks,
I hope it still runs when I'm done.
I'm getting a lot of 'hydro lock' or whatever so I blame the carb for now.

Default Couple of LT80 Carb Questions

For lack of the correct term I use Hydrolock. My cylander is full of fuel and the piston is on the way up and cannot roll over. If I remove the plug and roll it over then a whole bunch of fuel will shoot out. Then I put the plug back in and it might start. I am rebuilding the carb now and hopefully this fixes it.

I am also going to try to remove the oil injection and go to 32:1 mix. Since all my other equipment runns at 50:1 and I buy various 50:1 oils, can I just run the mixed gas at that ratio? It is just brand name John Deer and Toro 50:1 oil.

Default Couple of LT80 Carb Questions

Ok, I completely rebuilt the carb and it starts perfect. I seem to have lost a little bit of power and top end but I will keep playing with the throttle cable maybe that will fix it.

There only seems to be one screw to adjust anything, is that correct?

One thing I am really confused about (and probably hooked up wrong) is all those tubes.
-I am sure I have the oil-in correct so that one is OK.
-I have the fuel-in going to the lower right side.
-I have the other line that goes from the fuel shut off pluged in above the fuel in.
-What is that other one at the top right side of the carb?
Does a tube go on the bottom of the float tank? It has a drain so I'm guessing it just drains out.

What are the two other open tubes that go toward the back?

Sorry for all the questions I am a complete amature.
