My friend gave me a 2000 eton 90 that had an oil leak in the oil container. Actually it has a small hole, and the 2 cycle oil slowly leaked out and quit running. Now the engine will not fire and turns over roughly.... I started taking off everything down to the engine so I could see what is going on. Never had an "eton" before, I have a suzuki ..bascially I was hoping that someone else has seen this before. Any ideas? Should I replace the top end? Where would you start? eBay has topend kits for $149

You can get a piston, cylinder from loads better than the ebay scam artists. They sell very generic parts and say they fit every bike out there. They would sell you a 50,52,53, or a 54mm piston and say it will fit "all miniquads". I'd say you probably wont need a cylinder probably just a piston and, rings but check it out. Rings from Hetrick are $20, a piston and rings is about $50. They can bore your cylinder for less than the ebay stuff with $45-$80 shipping from china. Beware of ebay stuff theres 42mm cranks, 45mm cranks and 47,48mm ones, no way parts can fit them all. I'd use WRH or Hetrick or buy one from an Eton dealer and save the headaches.
