LT80 How do I remove Carb Limiter? Other Limiters?
#1
Ok, I read on another post that someone stated to remove the carb limiter. Where is this damn thing? Is it next to the Sky Hook? Here is what was posted about removing the limiters
"I assume your in uncorked and the carb slide limiter has been removed.)"
Someone tell me what Uncorked means and what the carb slide limiter is ?
Thanks everyone.l

Uncorked:: doing/removing something to produce more airflow/rpms/speed..
The carb limiter is above the carb slide. It stops the slide from full travel ie: slow.
Unscrew the carb top and pull out of the carb. If it's there, it is a brass sleeve thing.

The owner's manual tells you where these are located. Best to consult it!
Unscrew that cap on the top of the carb. As I recall, there will be a collar on top of the slide that limits its travel. Just take it off.
Unbolt the header where it attaches to the engine. There will be something in there that looks like a washer. Leave it out when you reasemble it.
There is also a throtle limiter screw on the throtle button. Be sure it is adjusted for maximum travel.

LT80... You have helped me more than you know and I thank you.... you make me look like a hero to my little girl.
Are there any other parts I need to replace on the front clutch since I am replacing the rollers with four new ones? It has six in there now but I am taking two out and just decided to buy new rollers and since I am in there I should just replace anything else I need to. Bike was purchased used and I am unsure what type of Clutch maintenance is required.

Clean the variator up and check the roller ramps for uneven wear, gouges, etc. Also check the plate that covers the rollers for the same. Clutch maint is cleaning and checking the rollers for flat spots. While in there, you should remove the rear clutch. Scuff the pads to remove the glaze and check the bearings.
Every 10-15 hours of riding or when it feels like it's not taking off right.
FYI: I use a q-tip of grease on each roller for assembly. It holds the roller in place. Extreme grease (like it had in it) is not ness.
Your very welcome. Everyone here is happy to help.

Clutch rollers replaced. spent more time triple checking to make sure i had it in right. Next time that will be a breeze I believe. I was a bit afraid of the back clutch as someone mentioned springs, etc. So I left it alone.
The clutch rollers that I took out... I think they have been in there since 98. Talk about flat spots.... One was sideways when I opened it up. I wish my girlfriend was as dirty as the inside of that clutch. Talk about packing ten pounds of grease in a 5 gallon bag. I cleaned it all out. Put a dab of grease on each roller so it would stay in place when I reinstalled it. SHould be able to fire it up tomorrow, have to go to cycle shop to get new jet... long story, It's in another post.
Thanks again everyone. Mr. LT80/ I also posted a new topic regarding chain adjustment. If you wouldn't mind taking a look at it, I would appreciate it.
