Looks like I will be ordering a Vbike 150cc Utility for my wife this week. That is if the economic stimulus comes in. Already talked to Tim to see what colors are available and which unit I would be receiving. I heard that some of you received a different model than the one they showed on the site. Tim informed me that all the 150cc utilitys now have the same frame and body as the 250cc V4D sport utility just with the 150cc motor installed. The difference that I could see is the headlights are round instead of the oval shape and the suspension looks like it is better made. I will keep you informed on how this goes. Now I will have 3 MIC in the stable....

Ghcoe,
Any reason your getting the Taotao 150 D versus the Taotao 250 D ? I assume you want automatic for your wife, but if not the 250 D is a bargain and has lots of torque once the front sprocket and chain gets changed, but of course is a manual 4 speed with hand clutch and reverse gear. The ATV Coloradotrailrider has is the Taotao 150 B and the new style 150 D does have the 250 D frame with a 150cc motor. Here is a link to Taotao the manufacturer of the Vbike ATV's that shows the different models............... http://www.taotao.us/ATA-150D.htm

I agree for the money the 250 is a lot of bang for the buck, but if the wife says no then it is a no go. I understand I would do the same to convince my wife also, but in the end she gets what she wants. I will be interested to know how you like the 150cc on the 250 frame, and what model engine it is running. Have a good one..........

just guessing, since the frame size is the same, is she afraid of learning to use the clutch? she needs to know it's only going to take few minutes or so to learn this and it's not a big deal.after a few rides it becomes very natrual to use the clutch and shift, you also need to explain that theirs not only the power differance between the two quads but also the resale valve. now just my opinio now, i've owned a couple of 150's before, the 150's were the most disappointing atv's we've owned, the power terrible or should i say lack of it, they fine on level ground or slight incline , the power brand on these engines are from around 4000-6000 rpm's once they're out of this power band they just brog and die, not good for climbing over rocks , logs or any type of hill climbs, top speed per gps on our 150's was 31 mph before hitting the rev limiter, now compare that to our 2 grandkids hi bird 110's which hits the limiter at nearly 40mph per same gps. all chinese 150's use the same engine the honda gy6 engine which was designed for the honda reflex motorscooter, these engine are very reliable with the exception of the belt and variator rollers, i really don't care which one you buy after all it's your money but if thats all thats stopping your wife from the 250 is she afraid to learn to use the clutch and how to shift i think it's going to be a big mistake buying her the 150.

I would have to agree the 250 or even the 200 is more bang for the buck. But if someone doesnt have the skills or confidence, or maybe even the desire to learn to shift. The gy6 150cc with the CVT is hard to beat. It isnt fast by any means but makes decent power that is very nice for some one new to the sport.
