1989 LT80 question
So my lt80 has been bored, just .10 over, new reeds, carb cleaned and rebuilt, new intake and top end gaskets, etc.... and it starts, idles and drives, but when you get to the upper end of the throttle it bogs out and has no top end power.
So, I am at a loss??? and looking for help. The shop said try the float, rebuilding the carb and then the timing (how to you check the timing?) Then I was wondering about the restrictor in the exhaust header? Anyways, it seems like everyone on here is on top of there game when it comes to lt80's so I figured I'd give this a shot..
Thanks in advance....
Chris

Welcome to the ATV Connection forums.
The exhaust restrictor is a washer that goes inbetween the pipe and the cylinder.
The float is not adjustable.
Timing won't be an issue unless someone messed with it and like you, most don't know how.
Stock jets?
Motor broke in?
Did you do clutch maintenence?

Stock jets, The motor was started and ran at idle for @10 minute allowed to cool and then repeated 5 times, just started trying the upper RPM's and this where the bog down started. Haven't messed with the clutch. However it bogs out even with rear end on jack stands and no weight on wheels? Could it still just be the clutch binding?
Thanks again Chris
Thanks again Chris
