check the battery in remote.you may have to reprograme the remote, some have a button on the kill box, you have to press it then press the remote to reset it.like a garage door.

I took the wiring diagram from my kids 110 cc ATV and 110 cc pit bike. Then tore into the ATV and removed the entire remote system. I took it completely out. The pit bike didn't have the remote so I knew what had to be there. It was a wiring nightmare, but it only took about two hours.

The remote system needs to be removed. Mine had an alarm that continued to drain the battery. Pull out the remote receiver. It will have a hot lead in and a neutral in. Coming out will be the remote hot feeding the starter that will need to be cut. In fact the remote system is an add on to the original wiring harness. After pulling mine out, I learned that it was mostly wired into the original harness and probably after it was installed so all of the wires can be traced back to the place where they were soldered into the original harness. Just cut the wire as it comes out of the original harness. I was unable to use my kill switch after the operation and never could figure out where I messed that up. If you take off the plastics, unwrap the wires and trace the wires from the remote box to the harness, I think you will see what I mean and discover it is not near as intimidating as it sounds. There sure are a lot of wires in that harness for a little bitty ATV.

OK, I attempted this and apparently have screwed up. No spark & engine ran fine 20 min. before. I suspect I may have damaged the CDI. There are 5 wires coming out of it ground (green), 2 wires to the stator/ trigger, 1 lead to the HT coil, and a blue (???). I connected this blue to a red (+) lead.

Any thoughts?

Yup, that was the wrong thing to connect the "kill" lead to. It would have been better off hooked to nothing rather than +. I'm 99% sure iut should be hooked to the B/W kill to ground system lead. Trigger & magneto seem to measure OK, so..I've ordered a replacement CDI.

Update. CDI replaced & bike started first try. If I were to do this again, I'd recommend just unpluging the security box & see if it will run. If it does, but won't shut off, all you have to do is figure out which lead out of the CDI is the kill lead (top center on my 5 lead cdi) & connect that to the safety kill circuit (Black/ White wire on mine). you can determine what the kill system lead is by lookin at the kill switches, one wire will be the common ground (green on mine) and the other will be the common kill lead.

I also took the opportunity to remove and plug the AIS (air injection system) from the exhaust. After removing, i used the gasket to locate the holes on an aluminum cover plate and then sealed it up with orange high temp silicone. I think it now idles smoother & the carb adjustment was more definitive. Also, it removed something that was making a rattling noise...who knows. This will not affect AFR so don't worry about jetting changes for this if you do it.
