Probably been asked a million times but here goes:My first mod was to remove 2 front rollers now ive been reading about how to lighten up the rear shoes, what exactly does that help?take off,top end,or to get in the higher revs quicker?I already went to a .90 main,Boysen reed, porting reed cage as we speak, deleated oil injection, removed 2 rollers, wheel spacers aluminum DWT wheels, snow hoggs, aluminum handle bars, acerbis hand guards, shaved front fenders,UNI air filter just wanting to do as much as possible before this week-end! THANKS!

the clutch mods help keep the quad in its power range, i can't say much for a stock engine because i've never modded a clutch on a stock engine, but with a modded engine, it makes it scream!!!

It helps a stock motor do the same but will not gain any speed.

It'll be fine.
If it effects speed, add a roller.

Thanks guys, went to wal-mart got me a digital scale and got the rear shoes down to 180g. It didnt hurt top speed any but helped it get up in its power range quicker,so I just left 2 rollers out. Whats next???

Add a base gasket and remove the head gasket.

So after I remove the head gasket do I need to use some sort of sealer? How do I know if the head has already been shaved?

You can use a lil silicone if you want.
When I shave a head, I mark it.
Unless there is a reason to believe the motor has been worked on, I'd pressume it's a stock head.

Could I remove the head gasket without adding another base gasket? Or would it put the head to close to the piston? What's the benefit of two base gaskets and no head gasket? Seems like compression wouldnt be changed unless it changes port timing?
