Default cannibal on its way & needs help

Hey guys, Great forum. I have a question for you pros on a quad I recently purchased on e-bay. (It'lll be here Fri.) OK here goes. This is an all stock 02 cannibal that the prior owner claims needs a fuel pump. Story is the pump will prime, start bike & quit. Guy claims he ordered another used & same thing. Ordered another used from same person & the fitting threads were trashed. My first thought was probably a bad relay or whatnot but he said he bench tested w/jump box & no fuel flow. He never did say about testing the one w/bad threads. Could I swap housings from one to next if the one works ? How about cut & tig it ? Is the Ford Ranger pump really an alright way to go if I need to replace ? I read also of one from Summit. Should i wait for the latest d&m to be released or buy whats available now ? Kinda like the idea of possibly being able to switch multiple maps on the fly. (is that right ?) Still learning. I plan on doing all updates including stroker while its apart. Maybe 500 if available. Sorry for long post , just siked about new machine !!! Thanks again---Proflow

Send it to ATK, they will stroke it to a 450 and fix the 4'th 5'th lag for under a G

Switching maps on the fly is done with the Map select kit. You can do it with a laptop with the D@M kit but not while riding. The Ranger fuel pump works fine. Check fuel pressure. Do you have the mc500 computer or the mc1000 . Only the mc1000 can switch maps. The mod nadine is talking about is the motard 5th gear which narrows up the gap between 4th and 5th gear . ATK does not stroke engines. They only use larger expensive bore kits. Falicon and Timbomoose storke the cranks. The motard gears are pointless with a stroked/ported engine because there is so much more power that you will never notice the gap.

Woops, didnt see your post Wistech, thats what I thought on the ATK deal. Im not sure why this post resurfaced, I started it back in July. Thats cool, since then Ive done the Ranger pump, cleaned injectors & swapped out the spun flywheel. Oh yeh, HMF slip on too. She rips !!! If I had one complaint it would be it fouls plugs easy. Im running the moto/speed map. (got a d&m) Sometimes I forget to fire & walk away for a minute before touching the throttle. The next plug I put in maybe an 8eix instead of 9. I Just won the last Speed that went on e-bay for my wife also, its on the way from Missouri. Thanks all-----Proflow

Fouling plugs. Drop your offset by .2 and raise your flowrate by 100 .That should lean it out. Do a throttle recalibration for better cold starts.

Sorry man just needed to corrct you on that. I would only use the 5th gear mod on stock engines. You will regret it if you increase power . Unless you run in sand all the time you will be looking for much taller gearing .
