Busy, I am not so sure I agree with your opinion that widening existing trails is not a viable option. I would at least keep it on the table as a plan B. I guess it comes down to which rider group hat you have on at the time... If you were wearing the ATV/RUV hats, I think your opinion would be a little different. At least from a wider trail perspective.

Just curious, but I would guess that the ATV crowd is probably the largest group represented... It occurs to me that the numbers claimed to be represented would be the priority group in your negotiations and consultations. It also is quite evident, that the directions you and your board are taking with regard to trail building etc, does not reflect that.

Now I am not one to criticise without cause, but this one is so glaring that even a blind man can see this. All they have to do is go back through your comments here and it becomes obvious that there is a certain bias towards the two wheeled crowd.

The only thing that anyone is asking is for someone in your group to publicly state that you are in fact only speaking for single track riders. Once that is done, the two trackers can get their house in order... but the important thing is that those individuals who are in positions of power will know that in fact your voice is NOT representative of the biggest special interest group involved. And I think THAT is the issue you fear the most because you lose the power of NUMBERS in your voice.

Getting your cronies to come on here and pat your group on the butt and tell you "Good job" just isn't going to cut it any more. When the results show that the group is representing ALL rider groups, with equal treatment, then you truely will be a voice.. but until then, your group is irrelevant...

The really sad thing here is that you could have been planning how to upgrade existing trails systems, putting together real budget numbers to present, and have a chance at making some great headway... unfortunately your narrow view of how things should be, and your only support for the minority voice, has killed any chance at real progress.

You ever consider that the reason you don't get much reaction from the ATV and RUV crowd is because they might think they don't have a chance at changing anything because the leadership just doesn't care about their needs? If you don't take up their causes, they are not represented, and will become disenchanted.

You like to present the few that stand up and point this out as being crazy.... I call it bravery. Some of us are not going to bend over and take it in the shorts any more. Get ready for it.. because someday, your faux representation actions are going to come back to haunt you... I guarantee it.

Thank you for your post Dragginbutt.

Its sorry to say that the light four wheeled users of this state do not have the representation that they need. And the numbers of riders are growing more and more each year.

Lets see what kind of flaming replies my reply generates, this could be interesting. Maybe that guy who claims his computer crashes when he selects the reply button on this forum, will reply.

Muddy..I guess I dont understand why "your" site has a MEMBERS ONLY section.

I dont agree with alot of the members and non members on ATV OFF ROAD also dont agree with your agenda, espicially now that alot (most) people that post are posting in the members only section.
================================================== ==============

And I guess I dont understand WHY you think our ATVOC forum should not have a privacy section of our forum for members only exclusive use? The members of ATVOC are PAYING customers and should CERTAINLY have a place for exclusive privacy away from non members who are to tight to get off their wallets to support the club.

If you dont agree with ATVOC agenda's, than why in the world do you think ANY of us would want you to have access to what PAYING members have to say in thier own section of the members only forum?

Of the two (quote/unquote) "major" atv clubs here in Michigan....one (as mentioned) takes all meaningful man-to-man discussion regarding the future of our sport behind their "members only" curtain...while the other simply takes ALL discussion into the same area. http://www.michiganatv.com/forum/cat...=64&entercat=y

Couple this with the fact that no official Michigan orv info is ever published any sooner than three months at a shot (the current record is almost eight) or even giving a quick look at the goofs who defend the kind of nonsense in my signature....and you pretty much get the picture as to why a few guys running these "non-profit" atv clubs dominate the Michigan orv scene absent anyone like myself demanding that they simply act like a man/debate these issues out here in the light of day.

Either Muddy is the"spokesman" for at least half of these people....or every member in both clubs would rather have a "motorcyclist" continually craft their point of view year after year (which was exactly what happened here and why I had absolutely no problem referring to every one of them as truly the red-headed step-children of the most powerful AMA chapter in this country).

Again, when you fail in getting orv users to demand that their representatives publish their contact info; respond to the general public when queried or even so much as STOP representing every one of them "anonymously" on some damn super secret council...you receive the 'logic' that Muddy has so eloquently displayed above (sites like atvconnection 'bastardize' the concept of discussing pertinent issues by not charging for same and anybody who 'disagrees' with publicly exchanging ideas is to damn 'cheap' to comprehend their group's all-political-discussion-behind-the-curtain concept).
