YZman- you shouldn't try to be clever until you learn to spell. Access,Barrel,Maintenance,INCOMPETENT,Picnic. I ride a 600cc dirt bike, 700cc Quad, and a Harley, and I believe 60 inch trails are safer.

Well Mr. PC, they do call it "off-roading" for a reason.

Now I do think that having parts of a trail system with the smooth, 60" wide trails for guys like yourself who like to joy ride is a good thing, and there is nothing wrong with that, but the majority of off road riders want a challenge, not a freeway.

Slightly more specific, yeah. Most of us ATV'ers out here want wider and better maintained trails. Thats what I was referring to. Also, just because a trail is wider doe'snt necessarily mean that it can't be challenging.

1. In your sentence, the word "safer" should be replaced with the words " more safe".

2. You also have a incomplete sentence when mentioning the mispelled words.

3. You follow the words "AND A Harley" with "AND I believe", when in actuality, the comma used after the word "quad" negated the need for the word "and"

By all means, Please continue this valuable conversation!

Thanks I wasnt sure if you were referencing YZmans spelling. I might agree that a wider trail isnt necessarily a less challenging trail. But I would also say that vehicle choice and rider talent would make a difference too. If you dont mind another question. What percentage of "trail" would you like to see at 60"?

I do agree with this statement. Just because it's wider doesnt mean it can't be a challenging trail. But what might be very challenging to a quad, would usually be only a small bump to a cyclist, barring deep mud of course.

Actually the way you put, it would mean less challenging. Reason being, you said "better maintained trails". I, and most ATV/Bike enthuasists want a trail that is maintained only by mother nature.

Again, I think that a part of trail systems should be "maintained" for the joy riders out there, but I would hang up my helmet if that is all I had to ride. No wonder I track ride so much anymore, which ironically, the tracks that I like maintained. lol
