Default Keep SD ATV License plates!

This is a call out to all South Dakota ATV enthusiasts... there will legislation introduced this year to take away the license plate from ATVs, essentially removing you from use on roads. Please help us stop this attempt by downloading the petition and getting signatures. You can see the petition at SouthDakotaATV.com.

One argument you may hear that is for taking away plates is that it puts a trail system in jeopardy. That is total crap. We don't have to give up our rights. We want to keep our license plates and at the same time have a permit system put in place that funds a state-wide trail system.

Please help us speak with many voices.

Thanks so much!

Hope you ATV'ers can have luck at this, cause I can see it having an effect on us here in Wyoming riding the Black Hills and crossing back and forth over state lines.
You may know that we were lucky enough last year to be able now to licence our atv's and can ride paved roads (except interstate) with a few add-ons (horn, mirror, tail light and brake light).

With so many county roads within the forest boundries, you must have a licence plate to ride these and a state trail sticker to ride forest roads and trails. Without knowing which are county and which are forest roads if you don't have bought, you are and can be riding lillegal.

If you can not have or don't have a licence plate (because of your state regs.) on your quad and come to Wyoming to ride and happen onto a county road you are riding against the law. However after the travel management is finallized we hope to convience county officals to enroll these county roads into the state trails system ?????????????? However previous meets with county officals have not been favorable to our cause. So this will emped out of state riders who can not licence Atv's.

Good Luck

Default Bill defeated!

We were able to defeat the bill in committee. South Dakota ATVs keep their plates.

Wisconsin is just starting to require license plates on ATV's. No big deal. You can make your own, using the number that's on your trail tag. It is crazy that something considered a good idea in one state can be seen as bad in another.
