heated gloves
I'm having a plow put on my foreman and was wondering if anyone has used heated gloves for plowing instead of the heated grips. I thought I read somewhere about gloves that plug into a cigarette lighter socket. I have seen the ones that are battery opperated and was wondering how well they work and if they are worth getting.

I have used Widder Heated Gloves, while roadbike riding in the cold. They were great! DO realize that they draw a bit of current. That, coupled with frequent use of the electric lift, or winch, MAY use more power than the alternator /battery can provide. I am sure Widder has a website for electrical specs. Search: Widder electric clothes.

Heated gloves sound like a great idea and im sure they work, but are the particle? Keep in mind that every time you get on and off the quad you will have to plug/unplug the harness from the quad. Could be a royal PITA if you ask me. Also i've never seen the gloves but how are they wired? Does each glove have a wire thats run through you coat to a single plug? or Does each glove have its own plug? Sounds like more trouble then its worth unless you are talking about EXTREME cold and LONG rides.

Guys thanks for the advise. I think I will try the battery operated gloves. I looked at the Gerbing gloves and they were a little expensive. If I do get them I'll be sure to post how they worked out. Then again I may just get the heated grips. If I go that route I think I will get the ones that stick on the bars under the stock grips, I read that the replacement grips are hard and not very comfortable.

If im stoppin for an extended amount of time they ya i would take my gloves off.....its the short stops... say to move a tree limb or just to stretch that I could see the gloves being a hassle. Like i said im sure they work fine but for me the inconvenience might not be worth it.

Guess it is all what you are used to. Unless I jump of the bike(or fall off) the gloves, and wiring are not in the way, as the wiring runs down both arms and my back, under my outer jacket, THEN plugs into the gloves.
I also use the snowmobile hand warmers, with chemical warmers. You know, the pouches that look like "Dumbo Ears"on each grip. Don't like THOSE in tight woods situations, though. Whatever works......
