Took my banshee apart today... not good.. both cylinders are all gouged up.. head is all dinged up.. busted the right side rod off the crank.. metal pieces all through the pipe and crank, little gouge in the crank, basically its all messed up. Take a look at the pictures to see what I mean. Any advice? Should I take it to a shop? Id rather not get into the bottom end.. Is it hard to take the crank out? looks like it would reallllllly suck... anyways Im bummed.. Lot of work/money to go into this thing.. I need a little advice..

Send your crank off to Crank Works www.crankworks.com. He has been doing cranks for a long time now. He specializes in banshee cranks and stroker cranks. Probably the best in the business. Shouldn't cost you near that much for the crank.

well good luck on your repair. I had the same thing happen to me last year. Bought a used banshee took it out about twenty minutes later boom. Just like you metal chunks in the pipe in the crank it was a mess..After replacing cylinders pistons pulling it all apart and reporting it was about $2000 but I had alot of mods done while it was apart. But I feel your pain

I've been through it all myself. But I don't feel bad about spending money on the Banshee. I just make it a little better each time.
If your cylinders cannot be rebored how about resleaving them.
I saw a response to a forum that Magic Racing sells a Wiseco crank with Hot Rods installed for $400. If this is true I would check into that. I buy a lot from Magic Racing and they are good people.
Could you get a rechamber on that head? I just replace domes using the Pro Design head.
I put in a set of Vito's power pistons for $199.
Just got back from three days at the dunes. Every penny spent on the Banshee was worth it!!!

I would never buy a banshee or any other quad that was already moded in the least. You know it has been ridden hard... Take mine for example, I bought a 99 in mint/stock condition, with only 3 hours on it and added mods to it. I ride the **** out of it and although i take care of it when at home, when camping, I beat on it HARD! Now when I go to sell it next year it will still be strong, but not like new... Dont buy a moded machine unless you know the owner...
