I put a FMF MegaMax II pipe on today and i was wondering how many of the discs i should put on it? I have the core an arrestor in it now Are the discs just for noise or for tuning? I also put a K&N power kit on it and now its smoking alittle black smoke guess the carb just needs to be tuned and suggestions?

any info will be appreciated

FMF recomends you run all of the supplied disks. Keep in mind, more disks = more top end, less disks = more bottom end. I run mine with all disks and no core. It is quite a bit louder, but not as loud as no disks or core. I also have the MM II along w/ torque stuffer, Pro Flo plate, K&N, Dynojet, Drilled airbox, & DG full skid @ A-arm skids, steering damper. The smoke may be coming from inside the pipe. It will probably burn itself clean. I run a 155 main jet on mine in PA. Run it for about 20 min. & see if it still smokes. If so read your plug. When does it smoke? What did you install from the K&N kit. Let me know and I'll point you in the right direction

Yes it is definatly loud with no core or disks so i think ill leave all the disks and core in. Well the kit came with the dynojet so i put those in not sure what size as i didnt install them myself but its supposed to be right for the elavation here 500 feet. I think i just had the fuel mixture not quite right it only smoked for a second when you start it up or gag the throttle so i messed with it alittle and it seems to be right now. What do you mean by a drilled air box? The only other thing i have done is i put a set of oxlite stick stoppers on it. Well if you need to know anything else let me know. thanks for the advise

You drill about 6 one inch hole in your airbox lid, and put the Uni- Filter inserts in them. More air flow- more power. If you think you will be in deep water, just tape over them, then take tape off when you are in dry stuff.
