I am curious if anyone out there with a performance clutch has had problems adjusting the clutch? I have a toomey with all of the springs installed, man is it a monster. I put the e-z clutch pull on and a new cable. The problem is when I am at a dead stop and I pull the clutch in and rev the gas, my quad starts to pull forward, not much but you can feel the engine engaging. I know that my clutch is adjusted all the way out but is this normal??

 

All very good suggestions. Here's one more. Usually afteramrket plates are a little thicker, which causes them to fit a littel more snug. They have less slack in them when the clutch is pulled in, thus causing them to slightly engage. This is a very common problem, it usually will not hurt anything unless you rev the motor allot with the clutch pulled in, then you run the risk of burning the clutches up.

 

I have heard it was common but wasn't sure. It's not like it just started doing it after a season of riding, it started the moment i put it on and rode it. I didn't figure that something was broke cause I didn't get a chance to hammer it. I did soak the plates in oil before putting them on. Does the fact that I am using a stock basket hurt the performance? I'll probably pull the cover off this weekend and check for wear or?? what should I really be looking for?

 

Just amke sure the arrows on top of teh cases are lined up. When the free play is ou, they should be poointing at each other. You adjust it from the nut and screw on the front of the pressure plate. You will need to mic the plates to tell if they are wore, but they shouldnt be. Just make sure all adjustments are right.
