Ok. I have already tried lowering the idle and it doesn't do it as bad as it used to. As for checking the clutch components, will it be obvious if things are worn or out of alignment???? I don't have a service manual (only parts), so I have no idea what I should be looking at and for. I really have no complaints about any other performance issues. Just the creeping because it grinds a bit when I take it out of gear after it has been moved.

I guess I should let yas know that I have about 750 miles on the original plug in this new motor, and it runs sh*%%# when I lower the idle much more. It dies all the time when i come to a stop or let it idle for more than 5-10 seconds. Think it needs a new plug yet?? My father in law had it before me and he always had it just barely running at idle, but I have had to increase it some because it won't idle that slow anymore. It also runs a bit rougher on choke \ high idle since last winter. I think I might be anwering my own question here, but I still would appreciate some input. Thanks, Brian

Since I turned idle up a touch 3-4 months ago, it idles up better, and just plain runs smoother. Should a stock machine get better mileage than 10-15 mpg in cold (30 to -5 degrees Far) and 20-23 mpg in temps above that? That is what i get with all around riding. (mud, trails, sand, hills, and snowy repeats of same). Brian

Yes, I believe that even smoking it a few times will cause the creeping, I smoked mine this past weekend and it started to creep, put a new belt on yesterday and problem solved. I probably should use low gear a little more for hill climbing, just not as fun in low!!!!
