I WAS JUST TOLD ABOUT THIS WEEKEND WHEN RIDING.THE NEWER SP 500 HAVE A NEWER RADIATOR. IS THIS TURE? AND CAN I GET IT FOUR MINE ?

 

Yes they have a different rad. They also have a different cooling fan and fan shroud. Can these parts be used in an older Sportsman? Not sure.

To respond to the title of the post. Fins too close = more cooling = better, nothing wrong with that! Just keep it hosed out to keep the dirt from building up.

hey there sman if you want a rad my neihbor has one setup un used for sale it is the older style. In my opinion it is better then the new ones the new ones it is a bi%#@ to back flush the rad personnaly i woul use the old ones .

 

Jaime has a good point, newer design does not mean it is better ...

WHAT YEAR SP 500 IS IT FROM ? ONE GUY FORM POLARIS THEY UPDATE THEM FROM 96, THE UPDATE HAS BIGER FINS. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

 

I belive it is from a 98 or 97 model sp hope that helps
