Default Heel Klicker for a 600 sportsman????

I have read a few posts that have said the Heel Clicker clutch kit really doesnt do anything for the 600. Just wondered if anyone has installed one or rode one with this setup. I noticed that on their website they dont mention the 600 anywhere. Is this why? Also I read an ad in the July issue of ATV magazine for Dalton Industries. It states that the 600 is tuned really well "out of the crate" but they have a replacement primary spring that makes the low and mid range more agressive and also adds 1 mph top end. This is only about 22 bucks, so maybe I would be better off just getting this? Im really just looking for something that takes away the hesitation in high gear. I have to get the throttle up to about 3500rpms before I even start moving. I dont want to go faster but I wouldnt be upset either Mainly I just want more snap in high gear.

Yes, there is a Heelclicker kit for the 600, I just ordered one this week, after checking around and some long conversations with Dan at heelclicker it looks like th way to go.
I'm looking for a lower rpm engagement and a better grab on the belt, the heavier weights in the kit along with the STOCK spring in the primary and the KIT spring in the secondary is the plan, I'll let you know what it does.

I would reconmend calling heelclicker and talking to Dan, he knows his stuff.

lovemud,

Youre the first person I know that is getting this kit for the 600. I have tried a few forums and no one with a 600 has one. It does sound like the results for the 700 are pretty good but the 600 comes with a better low end setup than the 700 stock. I will keep tuned in to see how it works. Hope it works well for you.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to trying it. It was quite a switch going from an xplorer to a sportsman, I'm not sure I really like the EBS. It's great for trail riding, but it's more of a hinderence around the house, my biggest complaint is reverse, it seems the combination to a higher engagement and the EBS makes backing up (slowly) a real challenge. My other complaint is the challenge of maintaining a steady speed over rough terrain, if your thumb slips it slows too fast.
If what Dan says pans out, just the fact that the shape of the weighs will help grip the belt better will make the kit worth the cost.
