I heard it again last evening from a gentleman who works in the Oceola Engine Plant, that the 700 twin is a reality. It will be going in the Sportsman

700 Twin rumor confirmed.

I met a tool and die man from Plant #1 in Osceola, WI.

In an unsolicited conversation, this gentlemen stated that his time had been taken up by tooling up parts for the 700 twin Sportsman.

Just got back from my dealer, It's reality folks!! 700 twin and its lighter than the the 500!The motor anyway. He said 45hp at the rear wheels right know they are tring to sqeeze 50hp for production! The motor is made in the USA and uses alot of pre-existing parts. He didn't know anything about gearing on it.They already put in there order for the beast! This is a MA and PA shop people this was all discussed over a 12pk! The price isn't known yet and won't be until the fall convention. Also saw the new silver Sportsman has the diamond plate graghics on it, it's sharp looking thats for sure.

HO = High Output. If the 700 engine is going to be lighter it would almost have to be a Vee twin. With the extra crank length in a tandem setup it would be almost impossible to make it lighter. Im not an engineer by any means just a practical mechanic.

i agree i think it would have to be a v-twin, but thoes numbers MNXPOLRER said 45hp to the rear wheels, WOW 400ex's dont have even close to that. if thats true it would be a Rocket. I hope that the dealer wasent just making this information up in his head.
