Seems everybody has slammed the Scrambler for years as not being sporty enough so Polaris comes out with the Predator w/ a manual tranny. But now the V-force is all the rage. Could it be Polaris was just ahead of its time? Like it or not the future of ATVing is staring us right in the face, four-stroke automatics.
One more thing youd never see a manual tranny on a sled, and snowmobiling is huge. Why do people resist automatics so much on quads? They are tunable, and deceptively quick.
If Polaris comes out with a 700 Scrambler what will people say, it would be kinda hard to dis it after all the V-force hoopla.
Just an observation.

I'm not sure what you mean by saying that" the V force is all the rage". It seems that not many people give it any respect. The general consensus of traditional sport bike riders consider the V a quad for fat people who don't know how to shift. I think it would be great if polaris made a 700cc scrambler! Oh well, if you can't join um, BEAT UM!

I had a Polaris Sport modded to about 48-50 HP. I have been through a quad or two since the Sport. I brought a V-Force home last night. I see why it is "all the rage". Definately a wild machine.Stab the throttle once, and you could care that it is an automatic, shaft drive machine.

Ive ridden a V-force and was in no way impressed, it was quick but nothing spectacular...people say CVT trannys are for 4wd and slow quads. However sleds are in no way slow and they all use them. Its a proven fact that a CVT tranny is the most efficient way to get power to the ground, its just a tad bit heavier than a manual, and personally I think without having to worry about shifting, you can ride more aggresively. The only downside I see is that their kinda big...and not even that bothers me. I was gonna buy a DS 650 and sell my scrammy one day...then I went riding in the snow, and had soo much fun I just couldnt do it.....the 400 isn't fast but it is quick and handles quite well, its heavy but is very well balanced and dosen't feel heavy....so I personally think its the best quad for me, and if I could get it with a manual tranny and overall lighter....I wouldnt trade mine for it.
JMO, except the CVT being the most efficient, thats a proven fact.
