Default clutch alignment and belt tension.

In a past thread there was instructions for aligning the clutches without the tools. Can anyone tell me how? i can't get my machine to the dealer, so how can I do it without the tools? Also, I tightened up my belt by moving the mounts, I put it at 10". The distance was less than 9 3/4 and now I have more power, or so it seems. Was my belt too loose and slipping? Thanks

Default clutch alignment and belt tension.

To check alignment you meed an alignment tool. (30$) Kinda like a jig that fits on the primary clutch, and goes behind the secondary. For the tension, put a strait edge across the top of the belt from the crank to the tranny input shaft and push down decent pressure on the belt. You want about 1 1/8'' between straitedge and top of belt. good luck.
