#1
When i am slowing down to stop at a crossing or just to stop, my pred starts to sputter and dye. Only does it when i am slowing down with the clutch in, otherwise it runss perfectly fine.

have you adjusted the throttle cable yet?? My sportsman did this and it was a loose throttle cable, Tighten it just a little just a couple of inches from the thumb throttle and it might fix it. Polaris puts a little switch in there throttle for a safety feature incase there is a stuck throttle

Its the throttle cable adjustment... mine did the same thing the day i brought it home... Its right after the thumb throttle you will see 2 rubber covers over the adjuster, pull them back start it up and turn it till it idles kinda high(make sure you don't have alot of play in the throttle lever) then adjust the idling down on the carb adjustment (its on the right side of the carb its a brass screw) you probably wont get it right the first time you have to mess with it a little...

There is a small switch in your throttle housing called ECR switch. Your thumb lever should move 1/16 to 1/8 of movement before you feel the cable pressure. If the gap is to large when you let off the gas the bike will stall. The switch is a saftey in case your cable breaks. Just adjust like trailrider500 said. I have done mine twice. The first time was right after I got it home and a few months later after my trip to the sand dunes. I must of had it pinned most of the time, cant wait to go back.

Great post, I went ridding last weekend in Johnson Valley and was out there all day. About lunch time my Predator 500 started stalling. As soon as I let off the throttle. I appreciate you guys posting, I adjusted the cable and off I go...
