Not quite true....

The bore and stroke of the 780 sled engine is 80x78mm. The 683 in the atv is 80x68mm.

The 100cc the 780 sled has over the 680 Sportsman is all in the crank.

Here are some specs from the 2002 Frontier Engine

I dont believe that Polaris will come out with a big bore utility because they just came out with the EFI not to long ago. It is selling great and they dont have any competition to compare their quad to right now so they prolly will wait till next year.

He did'nt say no or no way. thats what i wanted to hear before i buy the 700efi. I'd definately wait for the 05 . sounds like some lighting and drivetrain changes. SOMEONE tell us!!!!!!!!!

 

I went to the dealer yesterday. Still no answers, except for the 2005's are to arrive in July.

 

Since I have never tried it I cannot be sure of this, but I have been told you can add the recoil starter of the snowmobile version. It may make the engine pretty wide, but it would give you the starter if you ever wanted it.

 

Jesus Christ, why don't you just buy Grave Digger and put a seat and handlebars ontop of it? lol. What ever happened to 300cc being a big-bore ute? If these quads get much bigger the trails are going to look like a log skidder just tore through.

 

That's what I'm talkin' bout. How much does someone need ? For the kind of money they want now (and later) you can buy a damn good Jeep or Land Crusier. And the way these things keep growing, the saying will be "I can go everywhere in my Jeep you can go on your wheeler."

 

i'd like a Sportsman 330 or 400cc as a second quad.............BUT it would have to pull in around 540lbs!
