Default need a quik answer!! Recoil cover removal

I don't have a maint book, and am trying to get the recoil starter cover off. I have removed the chail and all the bolts, but the frame, or I should say gusset, is in the way on the bottom left corner, and I can't seem to work around it to get the damn thing off. WHat is the trick here? Do I have to pull the motor mount bolts just so I can clear it?

PLEASE HELP!!!!

Ok, kinda figured out what is going on. I thought that it just wouldn't clear, but apparently there is something that fits inside the cover on the lower left side where that boss is, and it is sticking in the cover not letting me pull it up and out. What is that, and how can I get it to stay in the motor side and not the cover?

That is your starter gear that turns your flywheel. Try to pry the engine case up just a little to help clear the frame. I did that with my 02 400 4x4 scrambler. If it's about the same

If it is coming out with the cover and if you can get your cover off far enough to get a long screwdriver in there to push the gear drive back in. You should be able to get the cover off. I don't know if you can get the cover off with the gear drive as one unit.
