Default Sp500 Vs. Sp500H.O

Hey

I was wondering what the difference is between the sportsman 500 and the high output edition?
Will eather of these machines lift the front end to do wheelie? Thanx

The HO has 20% more power. Both m achines will do a wheelie, with a little effort

Do you know what is done to the quad to make it produce 20% more power? (bigger pistons, valves, etc)

Different cam, bigger carb, and a slightly larger exhaust from what I can recall

are you sure they have a different cam? i thought they just had a larger carb. actually there's a little more power with the HO, but not that much. I doubt it's 20%

BBS is right. They have a more aggressive cam and a larger carb. 40mm Mikuni vs 36mm Mikuni. I thought I've heard that the HO also has a little bit different clutching than the standard SP500. The HO makes 20% more peak horsepower but loses some low-end power. The bigger carb would probably be the main reason for less low-end power.
