Hey there Elbongo...

Thanks for the kind words!! And that's even with the small tires!! As soon as all my drivetrain and axle mods are complete, the "wimpy" little 27's will be a thing of the past.... We're stepping the 700 carb up to 28" 589's (minimum) or maybe even a set of the new 29"+ Outlaws.... Then she'll be a REAL beast!!! My new (2004.5) 500HO is going to wind up being a carbon copy of the 700 carb (the way it is now) Just a bit smaller in scale for my Sweetie.

Thanks again.....

Hey Moosehunter,

I just bought an 04.5 700 sportsman, Thinking about buying 26" 589 ITP tires with type 5 rims. Is that the type of tires on your bike, also what is the largest tire I can get on the quad without rubbing or hitting....

tks

Some of the 26" will rub. 27 will rub and bottom out on the fenders. I would stay 25. Be careful, not all 25" have big lugs. Dobie

In the service manual they call it "late-model" and "early-model" 2004's, but 04.5 is the way its usually said. they moved the front hubs, added a gas gauge, small things like that

I just bought 2 new 2005 . The Sportsman 500 and the Scrambler 500. All I can say is WOW. Both are a graetride but the Sportsman is a cadillac.
Gas guage sucks on the scrambler but I think I can find a aftermarket one.
