Default PROCOMM CDI PROBLEMS ???

MY PROCOMM CDI LEFT ME STRANDED AT THUNDER MOUNTAIN IN THE ST. ANTHONY DUNES. PLUS I HAD TO GET TOWED OUT BY A RAPTOR. PLUGGED MY STOCK CDI IN AND STARTED RIGHT UP AGAIN. ANYONE ELSE HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH PROCOMM'S CDI?? THEY SAID TO SEND IT BACK AND THEY WOULD REPLACE IT FOR FREE. I HAD IT ABOUT 7 MONTHS. BUT DO I REALLY WANT ANOTHER ONE?? THEY DO HELP TO REV HIGHER, CUZ AS SOON AS I PUT IN THE STOCK, I WAS HITTING IT ALL THE TIME.

Default PROCOMM CDI PROBLEMS ???

Hey all,
New to the board.I have an 04 TLD pred. Big Gun slip on ,k&n drop in,dyno jet not yet right.I used the suggested main and needle but the low to mid transition is a little slugish.Someone told me to go back to the stock needle .Use the white bros head pipe and a clamp on adapted (snorkel) intake and then go to the dyno jet needle. He said the direct to carb mounted filter would cause valve problems after about twenty hours.Anyway my question is ,is the procomm the same as the one white brothers sells?By the by I am going to glamis friday night for a night ride.Day temp still 115 ouch!So cal you gotta love it!

Default PROCOMM CDI PROBLEMS ???

Check out predatorowners.com Theres quite a few that have had this problem w/Pro-com as well. You can get another, but you'll probably just fry it again..... There is another one available around the same price range, but can't remember off the top of my head. Go on there and use the search function. You should find what your looking for.

Default PROCOMM CDI PROBLEMS ???

Yes,
I believe the Procom CDI is my current problem as well. I installed it and for the first six months my 660 ran awesome. Then, after doing nothing more than cleaning and general maintenance, I took it out and I now have issues at anything above half to two thirds throttle with it running rich and running like crap. I even jetted back to stock and it's still running rich with the K&N filter, no lid and a DMC Alien exhaust. If anyone has any ideas beyond my preliminary thoughts please respond. Thanks.

Speaking of CDIs, does anyone know of any unbiased comparisons/reviews of aftermarket units? The usual info of course is one of the manufacturers trying to sell their product.
