Both would work ok, but the 700 EFI with the fuel injection and weight would work much better for plowing snow....and I can tell you that the '05 700 EFI does great on the trails also, since I own one...
my 700 EFI
click on 'all' at bottom of page to see all pics....machine is in various stages of modification....bumper, brushguard, winch, tires, etc.
if you want to see some close-ups with detail, click on 'original' on bottom of page for full pic...be careful though, these pics were shot with my Canon 10D and 20D digital SLR, 6.3 and 8.2 megapixel respectively....so if you're on dial-up, don't dare...

thanks Dodge09.....couple of more things to go, I've got a windshield for winter riding and heated grips....the windshield is quick release, so only takes minutes to put on or take off and I'm still waiting for the front rack from Polaris....**** poor customer service, got the rack in on the 28th of Oct, instead of the front, they sent me a rear, well it comes with a rear....contact customer service, they tell me 4-5 business days for a response, it was forwarded to the head office...so after 5 days I call them, say it is still waiting, should find out in a couple of days....so a few days later, I send another message in, say 4-5 more business days....BS....I call and ask for a supervisor or manager....this morning I talked with Dawn Taylor, a supervisor, she apologized and said she would put a urgent request in and guaranteed to call me by the end of today....guess what....no frickin call.....so guess what i'll be doing tomorrow morning, I'll give the a day to have it shipped overnight or I'm going to call their corporate headquarters....jeesch, what does it take....**** poor...

I got both sets from Outdoorsman ATV....(931)510-4043....they ship extremely quick, in each order from the day I called them to receiving the tires/wheels was two days....
I have two sets of 27" tires/wheels, one of Mudlites and one of 589's....the only problem i have is a slight shimmy on the front end....if you are going to put on an '04, you will need wheel spacers or a lift up front, you can read about the problems on here....if you had an '05 like mine, they fit with no problem....

Just wanted to thank everyone for their advice and add the following comments...
I've decided on the Polaris because of the following, correct me if I'm wrong?
I find the Polaris has the following going for it:
-Shifter on the right, good for plowing as it frees up your left hand for controlling the winch.
-Faster shifting when plowing, as you can go directly from reverse to low, thru neutral.
-Park as opposed to the AC which only has a parking brake.
-I like the plastic or composite racks and storage space (the metal racks on my Yamaha rusted the first year and only had storage under the seat).
-Sheering control much better on Polaris, the AC felt like the front wheels were right under the machine and turned much harder.
-About 50 lbs. more weight, which will help for plowing and hauling.
-Of course EFI although, my Yamaha started first time every time in cold weather.
-Also, I like to give credit where credit is due; if it weren't for Polaris and their great innovations we probably wouldn't have a lot of the technology we have on ATV's now.
Thanks again.
P.S. Same message posted on Arctic Cat string.

Watch out for Arctic Cat. I had a lemon with only 5 mi on it. Electrical, Belt, Starting, and brake problems that could not be fixed by the dealer. With Arctic Cat you can't even talk to anyone, they just give you a recording to take it up with the dealer. Well, the dealer said he could not fix it and I was on my own. I finally had my wife call Arctic Cat, (Don't think I'm a wimp, she's an Lawyer). She got through and they gave me a full refund.
Before I purchased my Polaris I called Polaris customer service and a person answered. I had some questions and was transfered to a service tec from Polaris. It was nice to actually talk to someone. I've had no problems yet with my 04.4 500HO, knock on wood. By the way I had an 04 650. I just don't think you should have to get a lawyer to talk to someone. Bad Arctic Cat... Good luck.
