Default 2005 700EFI Problem???

The bike does not hit the true rev limiter. Polaris has built some safety feature into the ignition that starts calming the motor down at around 3000rpm or so. The only time it does this is in low range with the throttle pinned from a dead stop. When I get a service manual I am gonna try and figure out a way to stop this. Or maybe somebody will make something to get rid of this problem, it is very annoying. I actually like riding my wifes carbed 700 better then my EFI.

Low range is for crawling, pulling etc (ie slow speeds). Why would you want to use low for speed? If you wanted speed just dont nail it from a dead stop and it wont do this, correct?

I am not looking for speed. I am looking for the kind of performance that a fuel injected 700cc machine should have.

How can you find that using low range?

Low range is a blast on tight, twisty trails. You can still run 30-40mph and have instant acceleration and awesome backshifting. Try it sometime!
