ZERK FITING ?

Default ZERK FITING ?

i was assuming it was threaded,ive never seen a press fit zerk.sorry guys!!

seems like quite a hassle to be changing those zerks out.

i just loosen the axle and roll the adjuster back to grease it and then roll it back to where you had it. its not like you have to do it very often.

I'm with Xrated, I just roll mine back, grease it, and roll it forward again. That way, you grease it and check your chain tension at the same time. Speaking of which, all you Polaris chain drive guys do yourself a big favor and buy a spring loaded automatic chain tensioner. Saves a lot of headaches.

or just remove a link from the chain if your carriarge is adjusted that far forward this would seem possible dont take my idea with out making sure first just a thought

Yes...they make "pressed" fittings....they are called "drive in" . Standard sizes...3/16, 1/4, 5/16. You drill the appropriate size(ie 3/16), and the fitting is a fraction over the size you drill, hence the "drive in" name comes into play.

redonthehead,
Mine was press fit. I bought my 95' sportsman used and then was dufuss and tightend the chain to much. Wasted the bearings in the hub - had to completly rebuild it. I ripped the stock one out and replaced it with a screw in one when I rebuilt it.
