Thinking of purchasing this model, have heard of EFI problems related to fuel lines and pumps in the 04 models,
Also any one having problems with drive train in this model?
Any other info is greatly appreciated.

the problem with the '04 was the throttle cable getting pinched, simple to fix by rerouting it.....as far as fuel pumps, etc., i heard some problems with fuel filters or pumps, but they were limited, most people have no problems...

I have the new 2005 700 EFI, runs great, no problems whatsoever...I've got about 600 miles on it so far, absolutely great machine...

I bought two 04' 700EFI's. one for me and one for my wife. I had a fuel pump go out after only 11 miles but was fixed under warranty. I have had the throttle cable recalls done on both machines which was a rerouting issue. I haven't had many issues with the quads but one of the most annoying problems I have had with them is the way the plastic fits where the gas tank plastic meets the side cover plastic near the front of the seat. I had a small coolant puddle underneath mine but found a loose hose clamp. the only other issue with the polaris brand is the slap/knock sound you get at low speeds when getting on/off the throttle, this is a normal clutch/drivetrain noise though and after awhile you don't even notice it anymore. as far as rattles and squeeks, they are not to bad but I am going to remove both the front and rear composite racks and add some rubber washers under them at the mounting points so the racks don't rattle anymore.

I have the 04.5 700 efi with over 2700 miles on and have had no fuel pump problems.. Other than the rerouting of throttle cable and fuel line ; nothing has been wrong with it. My only complaint are the tires...Too many punctures and leaks.!!!
