Funny Polaris Story
No, it's the weight of all the gas in the tank that might cause a problem, especially when trailering.
Now here's another funny one, only this time it isn't me being stupid and it's a sled not a quad. Couple weeks ago, I went to the local Poo dealer looking for an older sled with reverse to use for going to our camp when the snow is too deep for the quad. They said they were going to be getting in three '97 Indy Classic 500 single seaters with electric start and reverse. Two were from the DNR and one from the Sheriff's Dept. I went back a few days later and they had just gotten in the one from the Sheriff. They took me back to the shop where they were prepping it for sale. The mechanic says, "You're not going to believe this!" Keep in mind the Sheriff's Dept. bought this sled new in the fall of '96. When they do, they have all the hood decals removed and put on their own stuff. When the deputy showed up to drop the sled off, he started dragging it off the trailer. The mechanic asked why he was doing that. He said, how else do you unload the sled? They had the sled over eight years and didn't even know it had reverse!

i did the fuel shut off valve thing, i was having problems with my carb, it kept leaking fuel out the overflow, so i had to turn it off the second i shut the bike off, well i went snow riding about a month ago, and slammed the bike into a 3-4 foot drift, long story short i high centered and had to walk a mile to get my car, to hook the winch on the bike too, (they are kind of useless if there is nothing around), so i get back and hook the bike up, and start the quad, takes my bike a while to run out of gas, with the valve off, so i start winching while some neighbor's are shoveling the bike out, then it stalled out, got on it, it fired up again but then died out, i was getting real pissed, then it wouldn't fire for like 30 seconds, almost killing the battery trying to start it, well everyone is just staring at me, then it dawned on me, turned the valve, hit the start and on she fired, i felt like a moron
my buddy took his back to the dealer after trying 2 hours to get it started, he had turn his kill switch on, that killed him the dealer was 30 miles one way

i did the same exact thing when i got my kodiak. pulled it off the trailer and it dies... least nobody was watching. kill switches tend to be our biggest screw ups here. We're going through a water hole, waters right up to your seat, and the foreman 450es is in front of me. all of a sudden it backfires and dies right there. well the guy tries startin it, turns over but wont run. we were all confused, then after 5 minutes of talking we figured out it... man was he embarassed.
if you want some fun, if you have an older polaris where you have to raise the kill switch to start it, have someone not used to it try to figure it out... takes em awhile...
